What happens

Victor Gook returns home to his family's front porch in the small town after a visit to Dixon. His wife Sade and their household ask about his trip and the people he met along the way. He recounts a train conductor named McClure, an acquaintance named Cliff, and news about old friends and a relative, Uncle Fletcher. He brings home keepsakes, including a bottle of genuine Missouri sand from the banks of the Mississippi River near Hannibal and a horsehair watch fob. The family's conversation moves easily from town gossip to the small gifts he has brought back.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
