What happens

Randy Dean, a methodical newspaper columnist, has been secretly paying blackmail to Broden, a laboratory technician who knows Randy poisoned his first wife. Broden demands more money and Randy decides their next meeting at the fountain in Jackson Park will be his last. The Whistler series presents this story, first broadcast on September 9, 1946, with Howard Duff and Margaret Brayton in the leading roles. Randy arranges the meeting late on a Sunday night, intending to kill Broden in a way he believes cannot be traced to him. The guide covers only the opening portion of the episode.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
