What happens

Roger Wickson, a radio announcer, has come to resent his marriage to Tisha, who is involved with Trent Crandall, a visiting author. Roger decides to kill Tisha but needs an alibi, so he plans to be heard on the air at the station while he is actually at home. He recruits Burn Stevens, a new engineer with a criminal past, to help him. Roger arranges a recorded police announcement and worries about timing and suspicion. The story follows his preparations as he tries to set up an alibi that depends on being in two places at once.

A Midwest radio station and the Wickson apartment in a small town, with a country club and a police department nearby.

Characters: Roger Wickson, Tisha, Trent Crandall, Burn Stevens, Jerry Edwards, Mr. Gladney, Lieutenant Krasner, Mr. Bradley

Listen for: Roger's announcement of the police bulletin about the strangler, and the recorded station break that is meant to establish his alibi.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
