What happens

Babe Logan, a carnival dancer working a sideshow tent, accepts a marriage proposal from Charles Bundy, a wealthy middle-aged admirer who has watched her show night after night. Babe agrees to a six-month marriage in exchange for a trust fund, but she soon tires of the arrangement and resolves to return to the carnival. Bundy, unwilling to let her go, follows her back to the midway, and the strain between them grows as the story moves toward a rollercoaster ride. The Whistler series, broadcast in 1946, is told here with its original cast. This guide reflects only the first portion of the episode.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
