What happens

Clyde Croydon, a nightclub dancer, learns that his partner and wife Marie wants to leave him to team up with a younger dancer named Ricky. After a bitter argument, Clyde visits the theatrical agent Stanley Craig and begins to consider a drastic step. The Whistler series, first broadcast on October 7, 1946, presents this tale of jealousy and rivalry in the nightclub world, told by narrator Marvin Miller on the Signal Oil program.

A nightclub and the theatrical world of a West Coast city, including Stanley Craig's office and the Croydons' penthouse apartment.

Characters: Clyde Croydon, Marie, Stanley Craig, Ricky, Joey Lauter, The Sergeant

Listen for: Pay attention to the letter Clyde writes and how it is discovered by the police.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
