What happens
Arthur Winslow, a dull Jersey commuter and investment clerk, grows restless with his routine and decides to abandon his life. The Whistler narrates the tale, with Arthur's situation growing increasingly desperate as the broadcast's first part closes. The episode aired on August 13, 1945 on the series The Whistler.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
