What happens

Chris, a former secretary who rose to run a model agency, marries John Gray the day before. On their honeymoon drive she is shaken when Marion Lance, the dressmaker, appears, bringing back memories of Chris's past with her father in Denver. Later at a roadside restaurant Edgar, a former associate of Chris, reminds her of old grievances. At a mountain lodge, Chris finds Marion and Edgar waiting, and they announce their intent to harm her. Chris telephones the operator for help.

A wedding-day drive from the city to a mountain lodge, with stops at a roadside restaurant and a telephone office.

Characters: Chris, John Gray, Marion Lance, Edgar, Nora

Listen for: The telephone call to the operator, and the moment Chris recognizes the operator's voice.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
