What happens
Chris Horton, a passenger aboard the cargo ship SS Java Queen sailing from Vancouver to San Francisco, becomes convinced that the man claiming to be passenger Frank Ashcroft is an impostor. When the ship's captain and deck steward insist nothing is wrong, Horton grows suspicious and tries to contact a police detective, John Starters, by radio. The message is intercepted, and Horton finds himself locked in his cabin. Once ashore, he confronts Ashcroft's widow, Linda, about a murder he admits to committing. The Whistler series, first broadcast on February 20, 1955, presents this episode.
The SS Java Queen, sailing from Vancouver to San Francisco, and later San Francisco itself.

Listen for: The steward's and captain's denials that Ashcroft has been replaced, and the moment Horton overhears Mercer's conversation in the park.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
