What happens

The Whistler tells the story of Corinne Sloane, who overhears a plan to deliver a shipment on a train and sets out to take it for herself. On the train she meets Mr. Kuvar, a businessman with a shipping paper, and secretly drugs his drink while a stranger, Larry Burton, watches her. Kuvar collapses, and Corinne searches for the bill of lading, which is gone. Her plans become tangled when Burton turns up in her San Francisco hotel suite and insists on working with her. The episode is broadcast on the Signal Oil program, with Bill Forman as the Whistler, Betty Lou Gerson, Wally Maher and Herb Butterfield in the cast, and Joel Malone as writer.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
