What happens

Kay Fallon, secretary-companion to Mrs. Jaeger at Jaeger House on Chalk Point, California, finds a dazed stranger on the beach who claims his schooner, the Star of Shanghai, has been wrecked. The name matches the ship of Mrs. Jaeger's husband, Captain Jaeger, which was lost at sea twenty-five years earlier, and a photograph shows the stranger looks exactly like the captain. When the man vanishes from the study, Kay begins to doubt the house and the people in it. She turns to Jess Williams, the deputy sheriff, for help. The Whistler narrates this episode, which aired on September 7, 1952.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
