What happens
Frank Gentry, a returned fugitive, arranges a secret meeting on a Pier 12 with his partner Doris, who is to collect counterfeit plates engraved by Grando. Later, at the abandoned mining town of Morristown, Doris finds the Buckhorn Hotel occupied by several strangers, including Rick Carlin, who seems to know too much about Gentry's dealings. Tensions rise as each guest hides their true purpose and suspicion grows among them. The Whistler narrates the sinister mood of the storm-bound hotel as the parties wait for the arrival of the plane.
