What happens
Clint Markham, a magazine writer, checks into Oakdale Sanitarium to rest after finishing a series of articles. He slips out to meet Susan Forrester at Rodolfo's nightclub, and later returns to his room, where a confrontation with his secretary Lenore has left her dead. Frightened that a photograph of him with Lenore could link him to the death, Clint tries to get the picture and negative back while keeping his alibi intact. Featuring Bill Forman as the Whistler, the episode was broadcast on the Signal Oil Company's program on December 9, 1951.

Characters: Clint Markham, Lenore, Susan Forrester, Dr. Groven, Marty Davis, Ted
Listen for: Clint's frantic attempts to reclaim the photograph and negative and to stop Susan from calling the sanitarium
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
