What happens

Grant Adamson, head of Adamson Chemicals, learns that his former partner Dave Matthews plans to take evidence of Adamson's crooked dealings to Washington. Adamson decides to stop him, and arranges for his secretary, Peggy Williams, to fly on the same plane. The Whistler is the series, and this episode aired on April 22, 1951, on the Signal Oil program, with cast members Bill Foreman, Joseph Kern and Marty Margate among those heard. Adamson is a man who has built his company on questionable dealings, and he is now desperate to protect it. He spends the day in a laboratory preparing an unusual device, and the story follows his nervous wait at the airport as the flight is delayed and the plans he has made begin to shift.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
