What happens

Lydia Larkin and her husband Elliot face a will left by her uncle Philip, which gives them a half-million-dollar legacy only if they live together as husband and wife for ten years. The Whistler series episode, first broadcast on June 2, 1955, follows the couple's strained marriage in its first year. Elliot takes a job offer from their friend Johnny Gates, and on New Year's Eve the pair sees Mr. Ballinger, the family lawyer, at the Zebra Club before driving up to Silver Lake Lodge. Tension rises as Lydia begins to weigh her options. The transcript ends before the episode's outcome is shown.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
