What happens

Gordon Stone, a part-owner of a sugar plantation in Jamaica, is in love with the American visitor Paula but finds himself trapped by his business ties. His partner Mr. Wakefield and Wakefield's son Wade are locked in a dispute over Wade's share of the plantation. Inspector Carrington, an old friend of Wakefield's, warns Gordon that Wade may be capable of violence. Gordon begins to see how a motive could point suspicion toward Wade. The story follows Gordon through a stormy afternoon and evening as he weighs what he stands to gain and how the events around him might be used. This is a Whistler episode from May 19, 1955, a radio drama series.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
