What happens
Christine Courtney, a Broadway musical star, learns that Doris Richley, a young woman from her Missouri hometown, knows of a robbery and murder she took part in eight years earlier under another name. Doris demands the understudy role, and Christine reluctantly arranges an audition for her. Doris then turns to playwright Martin Duncan, who presses Christine for money to keep the past buried. Christine feels trapped as the pressure builds on her. The story follows the rising tension between the three of them as Christine weighs her choices.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
