What happens

Clint Harwell, a famed architect, is preparing to marry the local novelist Louise Phillips in the quiet artist town of Cypress Point on the California coast. A snapshot he develops at the local drugstore shows his late wife Corinne's face in the sea, and the drugstore's proprietor, Doc Ainsley, reveals that he knows something about her drowning. Their confrontation in the darkroom turns violent. Clint then tries to stop the newspaper from printing his picture and to deal with a witness, O.B. Willis, who saw a man leaving the drugstore. The Whistler series, first broadcast on August 6, 1950, presents this tale of guilt and suspicion.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
