What happens

Captain Ernie Hill loses his freighter on a reef and sells its cargo, which was never aboard, for profit. Months later, on the prowler in Rangoon, his former lover Lucille returns with her husband Charles Collins, whose father owns the shipping line. Lucille threatens to expose Ernie's smuggling sideline unless she is given a share of its proceeds. The Whistler series, first broadcast on October 8, 1950, is hosted by Marvin Miller. The lead actors are Bill Foreman, Bill Conrad and Betty Lou Gerson.

A motor freighter, the prowler, sailing between island ports, including Rangoon and the village of Buket, and the waterfront streets of Buket.

Characters: Ernie Hill, Lucille, Charles Collins, Jake, Jesse, Frank Quinlan, Sergeant Morrison

Listen for: Listen for how Lucille's threats push Ernie toward violence, and how Charles Collins learns of the smuggling.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
