What happens
Mike Jordan, a small-time crook, has cheated his partners Len and Monty out of five thousand dollars from a payroll robbery, and they give him a week to repay it. Mike meets Anne Wilson, a practical nurse who works for the elderly Silas Mueller, and begins a romance that he hopes will lead him to the old man's hidden money. The Whistler's episode of October 1, 1950 is set in Santa Monica, California, and this part of the story follows Mike's growing desperation as his deadline approaches and his plans take shape.
