What happens

Francia LeGrand, jealous of her sister Elise, learns that Elise has separated from her husband Ross Mansfield and moved into the Strathmore Apartments in Manhattan. After a bitter exchange, Francia leaves, and a series of chance events begins to weave together around the building. Elise is later found dead on the pavement below her window, and Ross, who had been with Francia that night, comes under suspicion. The story follows the inquest, in which Francia's testimony and the evidence against Ross and Francia shape the case. The Whistler series is known for its strange tales, and this one is part of the program's run of radio dramas.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
