What happens
Ronnie Hartfield, a young mining partner, resents his older partner Hank Murphy, who controls a gold ledge on Sharp's Peak worth about a million dollars. Ronnie owns ten percent of the claim and wants the rest. After discovering an old cistern in Round Valley, he begins to think about a hidden place to dispose of a body. The Whistler series, first broadcast December 10, 1945, follows his growing unease as Hank disappears and the town grows suspicious. The sheriff, Dawson, questions Ronnie while the storm drives everyone indoors. Ronnie is tense, and his explanations begin to fall apart as the sheriff pieces the case together.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
