What happens

Mark Fallon, an office manager at the Wu Feng importing company in San Francisco's Chinatown, grows uneasy as bookkeeper Harry Chang searches old files to clear his brother, who was convicted of stealing from the firm. Fallon is also in debt to a gambling figure, and his partner Samuels is the one who forged the accounts. Fallon and his companion Lena make plans as the pressure builds around them. The Whistler series, first broadcast on January 13, 1947, presents this story with a narrator who introduces each tale.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
