What happens

Actor Keith Elwood tells his wife-of-the-past Evelyn Corey that his career is finished, and proposes a desperate scheme. Evelyn, unhappily married to the wealthy Spencer Corey, agrees to meet Keith at his beach cottage that night. Keith is reportedly tied to the Whistler series, which aired on January 20, 1947. Evelyn and Spencer go to Keith's cottage to retrieve letters, and Evelyn's plans take a violent turn. The story moves to the aftermath, as Evelyn faces a playwright named Perry Dahlgren and a lieutenant of police who is investigating Keith's whereabouts.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
