What happens
The Whistler tells the story of Jim Mars, owner of the Skyland Club, who believes he has killed the club's dancer Monica Lee and dumped her body in the bay. Tony Canelo, the club's employee, is haunted by guilt over her death and has grown uneasy around Jim. When Jim and Tony begin to hear and see a figure they believe to be Monica, the two men are drawn into a tense confrontation at the club. The episode, broadcast on CBS in 1945, is narrated by the Whistler and features the series' regular cast in a dramatic mystery. The transcript here covers only the first part of the story, which centers on the mounting tension between Jim and Tony and the mysterious appearance of the woman they fear is Monica.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
