What happens

Joseph Herman, the attorney for Randolph Abbott, is appointed to defend Ruth Abbott, the daughter of his late client, who stands accused of murdering her father. The Whistler series presents this 1950 episode, which first aired on July 16. Bill Foreman, Ben Wright, Sarah Selby, Don Orric and Jean Bates are among the cast. Herman builds his defense on the value of Randolph Abbott's collection of historical jewels, which were missing after the killing. As the trial proceeds, the prosecution's case and the defense's strategy both turn toward the jewel collection, and the courtroom tension rises.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
