What happens
Walter Blake, a wealthy sportsman, has just married the widow Claire Blake, and their friends celebrate at the couple's house on Orange Grove Drive. Walter is soon confronted by a private investigator, Harry Spiker, who has been hired by Claire to look into his background and has found that Walter is far from wealthy. Walter agrees to pay Spiker to keep quiet and begins to plan how to gain control of Claire's fortune. At the beach house, Claire hires a social secretary, Nadine Wilson, and Walter finds himself drawn to her. The story is part of the long-running radio mystery series The Whistler and is told in its traditional style.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
