What happens

Phil Harder, treasurer of a company, is cornered by his friend Dan Fenton, a gambler, who demands $5,000 Phil has taken from the firm's safe. Phil also loves Mary, but she has chosen Larry Wilson, the company's general manager and Phil's roommate. Desperate to protect his position, Phil begins a scheme to remove Larry from his path. The Whistler's story follows Phil's calculated steps as he tries to pin the theft on Larry and eliminate him. Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
