What happens

Tarzan investigates a series of brutal raids in a remote African territory carried out by a band of masked riders known as the Night Riders of Pompeia. After a trading post is destroyed and its owner murdered, Tarzan suspects an Englishman connected to the area, while the local administrator shows an odd indifference to the attacks. Tarzan travels between the ruined capital and a half-abandoned mission, following clues that point to a hidden stronghold. This is the CBS radio series Tarzan, based on the novels of Edgar Rice Burroughs, first broadcast on June 6, 1953.

Characters: Tarzan, Harry Wilkinson, Mr. Chatfield, Maclin, Sergeant Flynn, Mr. Rokington, Mr. Meadows, Oliver Walterberry

Listen for: Tarzan's deductions from footprints, the administrator's suspicious attitude, and the hidden city's pagoda-style buildings

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
