What happens

Tarzan and Jane's companions, Professor Potter's party, are trapped after escaping a sacred cave of cannibals, pursued by the Gorman Gany tribe. Tarzan stays behind to cover the retreat while the others climb the rocks, and he sends Clayton and the rest ahead of him. The group reaches the rock face at dusk, where Tarzan warns that lions may be near and that they cannot press on through the night. This episode of the Tarzan series is based on the novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, with James H. Pierce as Tarzan and Joanne Burroughs as Jane. The party is shaken and exhausted as the drums of the attackers draw near.

A sacred temple cave and a rocky hollow in the African jungle, under threat of cannibal tribesmen and lions.

Characters: Tarzan, Jane Potter, Professor Potter, Clayton, Lieutenant D'Arno, Tom, Francois

Listen for: Tarzan's decision to stay behind and cover the retreat, and his warning about the lions as night falls.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
