What happens
Tarzan and his companion Darnell rescue O'Rourke from an attack by a lion and a leopard while travelling through the jungle. They join him at a small forest camp where they find Major Burton Ashley, Jeanette Burton and Dr. Wong Tai, the survivors of the Burton Ashley expedition. Deserted by their native bearers and lost, the four whites accept Tarzan's offer to lead them out of the jungle. Tarzan hides the party high in a tree shelter he has built, and they hear distant drums that suggest a native war party nearby. The group then makes a night journey through the dark forest, guided by Tarzan, as the drums fade behind them.
