What happens
Tarzan and his companions travel into the volcanic region of Tuenbaka on the way to the Forbidden City of Opar, seeking Helen Gregory. Their journey is shaped by encounters with a strange, masked escort of warriors led by Hakiru, who speaks English and refuses to say whether Helen is in the city. Tarzan questions Hakiru about Helen and the Diamond of Opar, while Wolf, Margaret and Dr. Donald Charles look on with growing unease. Before the party reaches the mountain rim, the escort's leader faces a sudden and dangerous attack from a winged creature.
