What happens

At a summer charity bazaar at Leighton Hall in Kent, a young man named Philip Lester and his fiancée Mary Sherwood visit a fortune teller's tent run by a man calling himself Omar. The fortune teller frightens Mary, and Philip, unsettled and suspicious, confronts him. The fortune teller reveals that he is really Inspector Brandon of Scotland Yard, and he begins to question Philip about his engagement, the wills the couple have made in each other's favor, and Mary's past. The story is drawn from the Suspense radio series, broadcast on February 23, 1943.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
