What happens

Lucia Durand believes her husband Gilbert and her half-sister Beverly are plotting against her. Haunted by recurring nightmares of a figure reaching for her, Lucia grows increasingly fearful in the grey stone mansion above the sea. When she refuses a tonic prescribed by Dr. Handy, tension rises between her and the household. Mrs. Benson, the housekeeper, is wary of the strained atmosphere, and the household's routines begin to shift in ways that unsettle everyone. Suspense is built through Lucia's mounting dread and the household's guarded conversations. This is an episode of the radio series Suspense, first broadcast on February 16, 1943, with Mary Astor starring.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
