What happens
Suspense presents John Collier's Wet Saturday and W.F. Harvey's August Heat, two half-hour English dramas. In the first, the Princey family sits in their living room on a rainy afternoon, tense and unsettled, as the household anxiously picks over a sudden death in their garden. Dennis Hoey plays Mr. Princey. The second story opens in the stifling August heat of an English village, where James Clarence Witherncroft, a 35-year-old artist, begins a manuscript describing a remarkable day. Barry Kroger plays Witherncroft, with Dennis Hoey returning in a supporting role. The episode's air date is March 20, 1948.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
