What happens

Eileen Landon waits in her family's home on the night her husband Norman is due to be executed for the murder of Sheila Warner. Her sister Harriet, her mother Mrs. Martinson and Eileen's sister-in-law Aline gather in the house as the hours pass, and tensions rise between them. Each woman carries her own feelings about Norman and his past. Word comes of a possible witness and a last appeal to the governor, and the women argue over what they believe. The play is a dramatization in the Suspense series, broadcast in 1956, starring Vivi Janis, Paula Winslow and Charlotte Lawrence.

The Landon family home on the night of Norman Landon's scheduled execution

Listen for: The phone calls from Mr. Mailer and the growing tension between the three women as the execution hour approaches

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
