What happens

Art Kramer, a small-time racketeer in New York's black market, is in debt and hunted by men he owes money to. He is pressed to hand over his share of a large illegal take, and his partner Sam Gross, who holds the money, refuses to give him more. Sam sends Art to his country house in Connecticut to lie low. Meanwhile Canelli, a petty bookie, learns where Sam keeps his money and sets out to get it. The broadcast is a suspense play by Robert L. Richards, part of the Suspense series, which aired on Columbia on November 16, 1943. Gene Kelly stars as Art Kramer, with Hans Conried as Canelli and William Johnstone as Sam Gross.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
