What happens
Ruth Franklin, a New York advertising woman newly named one of America's ten best-dressed women, meets Roy Mason, a foreign correspondent and author, at a press luncheon. The two quickly become close, and the press begins treating them as a couple. When Ruth learns that Roy is already engaged to a socialite, Elizabeth Granger, their meeting at his apartment turns violent and he is shot. Ruth flees the city, searching for the woman he preferred and struggling to understand what she has done. The episode is part of the Suspense radio series, starring Margaret Whiting.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
