What happens

Ivy Lexton tells her own story to a reporter, recounting her rise from a poor childhood to a marriage that grows strained as money runs out. Her husband Jarvis Lexton resents her attentions to other men, notably Lord Rushworth and Dr. Roger Gresham, and their quarrels deepen. Ivy takes a poison from Roger's dispensary and begins a dangerous plan. Presented on the Suspense radio series, first aired on June 21, 1945, with Anne Richards in the lead role.

London, England, in the early twentieth century, including the Lexton flat, Dr. Gresham's surgery, and a newspaper interview.

Characters: Ivy Lexton, Jarvis Lexton, Lord Rushworth, Dr. Roger Gresham, Victoria Matthews

Listen for: Ivy's narration as she recounts events to the reporter, and the tense argument between Ivy and Jarvis.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
