What happens

Elizabeth Whitehill, a young woman driving a powerful foreign sports car through Nevada, picks up a drenched hitchhiker named Alex Peck on a lonely road. Shortly after, she meets a pair of men posing as pollsters who seem to be searching for him. Alex tells her he is a former agent who wants to come home to America, and she decides to help him reach the police. The story follows the hunt that unfolds as she tries to keep him safe while the men pursue them across the West.

Nevada and the western United States, including the town of Winnemucca and a route toward Seattle

Characters: Elizabeth Whitehill, Alex Peck, Mr. Smith, Tarkel

Listen for: Whether Elizabeth can trust Alex's story, and how the pursuit by Mr. Smith and the men in the black truck develops

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
