What happens

Test pilot Bill Westfall prepares to fly the experimental RJX1 rocket jet aircraft, an extremely dangerous mission to reach unprecedented altitudes. Colonel Hargrove and engineer Hank Hargrove oversee the flight from ground control, with Hank anxious about his friend's safety. As Bill climbs past 200,000 feet, radio contact becomes strained and he reports an object approaching his plane. The transcript ends with the ground crew awaiting word, and Bill's account of what he has seen is not yet known. Series: Suspense, first broadcast February 15, 1954, starring William Holden.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
