What happens

Edward Mason is on trial for the murder of his wife, Frieda, in a hotel room in Norfolk. The prosecution relies on the police inspector's account of Mason's confession and on evidence of a life insurance policy worth 10,000 pounds. Mason's defence centres on a recurring dream about a snake that he says led him to strangle his wife while asleep. His sister testifies about a childhood incident of the same kind, and a young woman named Amy Burke describes an earlier encounter with Mason. Herbert Marshall stars in this Suspense episode, which first aired on February 22, 1954.

A courtroom trial in England, following the death of Frieda Mason at the Clendonian Hotel in Norfolk.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
