What happens

Arnie Lykin and Sven Hanson, two former members of a wartime resistance network, guide a fleeing elderly couple, the Hellmans, through a forest toward the Swedish border. Their journey stalls as the couple tire and the group's hopes of escape narrow. The story is presented as a true account from the Suspense series, broadcast on February 8, 1954, starring Jeff Chandler. The tale moves from the couple's desperate flight through the wilderness to a later courtroom proceeding that examines the motives of the two men.

Occupied Europe during the Second World War, a Nazi-patrolled border region near Sweden, and a later courtroom

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
