What happens

Sergeant Cuff investigates the disappearance of the Moonstone, a yellow diamond stolen from Rachel Verinder's sitting room on her birthday. Franklin Blake, who was to give the stone to Rachel, is at the center of suspicion as the household is searched. The maid Rosanna Spearman, once a thief, is found dead in the quicksand after the investigation turns toward the servants. Blake later learns that he may have unknowingly taken part in the theft, and he sets out to clear his name. The series Suspense aired this part on November 23, 1953, with Peter Lofford in the lead role.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
