What happens

Kay Murray, a young woman nervous about commuting home to Roseville, is approached on the late train by Mr. Jenkins, a man who talks eagerly about the Roseville murders and the killer's cleverness. Kay grows increasingly frightened, and when Jenkins insists on escorting her from the station, a stranger named Bill Mackenzie intervenes, and Kay and Bill agree to meet again. The Suspense episode aired on November 13, 1960 on CBS Radio, starring Vivian Smolun as Kay, George Petrie as Jenkins, Alan Manson as Bill, and Maurice Tarplin as the conductor.

A commuter train from New York to Roseville, and a dark wooded path near the Roseville station.

Characters: Kay Murray, Mr. Jenkins, Bill Mackenzie, The conductor

Listen for: Pay attention to Jenkins's talk about the murders and to the moment Kay walks with him into the woods.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
