What happens

A gas station attendant named Walt and his young wife Sally run a remote mountain service stop on Red Mountain during a winter storm. A stranger stops for gas and coffee and begins asking Walt pointed questions, seeming to know him under another name. Walt receives strange phone calls, and a man named Bat tries to reach him from Victorville, while Sally grows uneasy about her husband's past. The guide follows the story only through its early acts, as tension builds at the lonely station.

Characters: Walt, Sally, Bat, Pete, Sergeant Tuey, Mrs. Parsons, Joey Perino

Listen for: Walt's wife Sally questioning him about the stranger and his past, and the mysterious phone calls at the station

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
