What happens

Dr. Bronson sets out to prove that a man cannot be murdered, and he recruits five men who each have a motive to kill him. In his final letter to his colleague Dr. Mosher, he recounts his experiments with a clerk named Tutton, a petty criminal named Matt Doyle, a surgical intern named Judith Ainsley and a man named Ladern. Each man is offered money to carry out the killing, and Bronson records how each one reacts. The episode is part of the Suspense series, and this performance stars John Dana as Dr. Bronson. It first aired on November 4, 1954.

A city, in Dr. Bronson's study and apartment, a hospital, and dark city streets.

Characters: Dr. Bronson, Dr. Mosher, Tutton, Matt Doyle, Judith Ainsley, Ladern

Listen for: Bronson's written letter to Dr. Mosher as he counts down the minutes to midnight, and his explanations of each of the five checks against murder.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
