What happens

Peter, an aging servant at Cronwell Castle in occupied Denmark, is questioned by the Gestapo about a series of anonymous notes predicting that Count Victor of Cronwald will kill himself on the night of the King's birthday. Laura Costello's Countess Elsa and the new Nazi Gauleiter Reichmann appear in the early scenes, along with Dr. Erickson, the Count's physician. Peter recalls the events of recent days, when Reichmann arrived at the castle to discuss the notes and the Count's behaviour grew increasingly erratic. Tension builds as the household prepares for a midnight dinner on the appointed night.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
