What happens

Lieutenant Colonel Hutchison Stone commands the crew of the Bumblebee, a B-29 bomber on a routine strategic bombing mission over Korea. Stone's crew includes Max, the bombardier, and Murph, the flight engineer, along with several gunners and crew members. The mission goes according to plan until enemy fighters attack the formation, damaging the aircraft and knocking out two engines. The crew must decide whether to bail out or fight back, and then find a way to keep the crippled bomber in the air. The episode is part of the Suspense radio series, first broadcast on May 19, 1952, and stars Fred MacMurray.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
