What happens

Phil Dexter, a writer for The Real Story magazine, is assigned to find Joseph Ebner, a violinist and concertmaster with the Los Angeles Symphony Orchestra who vanished before a concert at the Civic Auditorium in March 1948. Dexter begins with Ebner's file and visits his wife Martha at their Burbank home, where she keeps his music room just as he left it. He speaks with conductor Carlo Finello, the stage doorman, and musician Eric Richter, who once was among Ebner's closest friends. The story is presented on the Suspense series, with the broadcast dated May 12, 1952.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
