What happens
Jack Benny plays a man who never forgets a face, and he recognizes Harry Edmond at a railroad station while Harry is plotting a bank robbery with a partner. Harry does not remember him, so the stranger introduces himself as Tom Jones and claims they grew up together on Second Avenue. Harry's boss takes an interest in the newcomer and offers him a job. The story is presented as a Suspense episode first broadcast on January 18, 1954, and its opening stage revolves around Tom's efforts to win Harry's trust and to be seen as a useful new member of the group.
A city railroad station and terminal, then a bank and the home of Harry's boss, a large yellow house with a green front door.
Characters: Tom Jones, Harry Edmond, Joe, Harry's boss, Kitty, Pinkie Smith, Alan Davenport
Listen for: Listen for the moment Tom recognizes Harry's face at the station and for how Tom works his way into the gang.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
